 Welcome. I'm Zoe Southcott

counsellor, clinical supervisor and PhD researcher with a deep commitment to trauma- informed care

I am a qualified psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. With a specialist focus on trauma recovery—including sexual harm, dissociation, and complex identity—I offer a grounded, integrative approach that blends compassion and â€‹â€‹evidence-based practice

My practice draws from a rich integration of somatic, psychodynamic, narrative, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) approaches, shaped not only by academic learning but by lived experience.

I offer a safe, non-judgemental space for people exploring recovery from trauma, sexual harm, addiction, identity challenges, and emotional overwhelm. I believe that healing happens when we are met with compassion, creativity, and clarity — and when our stories are heard without interruption or

expectation.

My work includes one-to-one

therapy, group facilitation, and the development of therapeutic training programs. Whether you're seeking support, supervision, or collaborative research insight, you're very welcome here.

Benefits

Benefits

One-to-One Psychotherapy

Experience trauma-informed, integrative approaches tailored to your unique journey.

Clinical Supervision

Clinical supervision is a structured, reflective space for therapists to explore their client work, process emotional impact, and maintain ethical, effective practice. It supports professional growth while ensuring client care remains safe and grounded.

Consultation and Collaboration

Consultation, research collaboration, and professional development opportunities for practitioners, organisations, and academic partners. Whether you're seeking input on trauma-informed practice, support with training design, or collaborative research grounded in lived experience and clinical insight, I welcome opportunities to work across disciplines. Please get in touch if you’re exploring a potential project or want to discuss how we might collaborate.

Benefits of Counselling

Counselling offers a dedicated space to explore your inner world, relationships, and life experiences without judgment. Whether you’re working through specific challenges or simply want to understand yourself better, therapy can support meaningful change.

A Safe, Confidential Space

Counselling gives you time and space each week to speak freely and be heard—without pressure to perform or fix anything. It’s a place to bring the parts of you that may not feel welcome elsewhere.

Greater Emotional Awareness

Together we can explore your emotional responses, where they come from, and what they’re trying to tell you. Increased emotional awareness helps you feel more grounded and in control, rather than overwhelmed or reactive.

Healthier Boundaries & Relationships

Therapy can help you recognise patterns in how you relate to others—and begin to set healthier boundaries, build stronger connections, or walk away from dynamics that are no longer serving you.

Support with Trauma Recovery

If you’ve experienced trauma (whether recently or in the past), therapy offers a trauma-informed space to begin making sense of it—gently, at your own pace. I work with approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), DBT, and somatic tools to support this process.

Tools for Managing Anxiety, Shame, or Low Mood

We may integrate skills from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, or other techniques to support you in coping with intense emotions, intrusive thoughts, or inner criticism.

Reconnecting with Yourself

Therapy is also about rediscovering parts of yourself that may have been buried by survival, shame, or expectation. It’s a place to come back to who you are, not who you were told to be.

You Don’t Have to Be in Crisis to Start Therapy

Many people come to therapy simply because they want more clarity, more freedom, or more connection. Whatever brings you here, we can begin with that.
